The META-TOO team participated in the widerAdvance Facility Dissemination and Exploitation Academy, an initiative designed to support Horizon Europe projects in strengthening their dissemination and exploitation approaches and maximising the impact and uptake of their research results.
The Academy brought together several WIDERA projects from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), as well as a project from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). Participating initiatives included nexus monARC, FunShield4Med, TransEET, ETHCSTWIN, EXCEL4MED, and BiACEM.
Strengthening dissemination and exploitation strategies
The training provided an interactive environment for exchanging experiences and addressing practical challenges related to the dissemination and exploitation of project results.

Through peer-to-peer discussions and case studies, participants explored common challenges in the development of key project tools, including the Characterisation Table, Exploitation Roadmap and Dissemination Strategy. The discussions offered an opportunity to share experiences, identify practical solutions and learn from the approaches adopted by other projects.
The Academy also introduced the Lean Canvas as a tool for developing and communicating a project’s use and business case, highlighting its potential role in supporting dissemination and providing a bridge towards a broader business plan.
For META-TOO, the Academy offered an important opportunity to reflect on our current approaches and identify further opportunities to strengthen the communication, dissemination and exploitation of the project’s results.
Bringing together expertise and experience
The event also provided valuable opportunities for dialogue with experts and colleagues supporting the European research and innovation ecosystem.

Maria Mikroni from the PRAXI Network, Greek National Contact Point (NCP) for Horizon Europe, contributed insights into the widerAdvance Facility and its support mechanisms. The META-TOO team also benefited from contributions from Dr Yiannis Dimitrakopoulos and Aliki Nianaki from Archimedes NKUA.
We would like to thank our coaches, Maria Augusta Mancini and Caterina Bergonzi, for their guidance and support throughout the Academy. We also extend our thanks to Prof. Nikos Thomaidis, Vice President of NKUA’s Administrative Council, and Andriana Papakonstantinou and Sofia Gkova from the NKUA Funding Support Office, for coordinating and supporting the event.
The Academy was a valuable opportunity for the META-TOO team to exchange experiences with fellow WIDERA projects, strengthen our dissemination and exploitation strategies, and explore new pathways towards maximising the impact of our research.
META-TOO will build on these insights as we continue working to ensure that the project’s results reach relevant stakeholders and contribute to meaningful and lasting impact beyond the consortium.
