META-TOO Featured in “Widening @ NKUA” Webinar on Horizon Europe Initiatives

The META-TOO project was recently spotlighted during the “Widening @ NKUA: Presentation of Ongoing Projects, widerAdvance Facility & Work Programme 2026-2027” webinar. This event brought together several key Widening and Twinning initiatives hosted by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) to discuss synergies and future funding opportunities.

The session opened with remarks from Prof. Nikos Thomaidis (Vice President of NKUA’s Administrative Council) and Andriana Papakonstantinou (Funding Support Office). During the project showcase, Prof. Maria Roussou presented the objectives and progress of META-TOO (2024-2027).

The project was presented alongside other notable NKUA initiatives, including:

  • FunShield4Med (Prof. Charalampos Proestos)
  • TransEET (Prof. Chronis Kynigos)
  • nexus monARC (Prof. Ariadne Argyraki & Dr. Andreas Gontikas)
  • ETHCSTWIN (Prof. Nektarios Aligiannis)
  • EXCEL4MED (Assoc. Prof. Vasilis Valdramidis)

Support for Research Excellence

Vasiliki Kalodimou (PRAXI Network / FORTH), Greek National Contact Point (NCP) for Horizon Europe presented the widerAdvance Facility. The discussion provided the META-TOO team and other attendees with valuable insights into how the widerAdvance community assists in the dissemination and uptake of project results, ensuring that research impact extends beyond the consortium.

Participation in such events is a core component of WP4 (Research Networking), helping to establish the META-TOO project within the broader European research ecosystem and fostering collaboration with other Twinning excellence hubs.
